Diabetes is not cureable yet so it is something you will have for the rest of your life. From your previous post it sounds like this wasn't discussed thoroughly with you. Have your parents make another appointment with the doc so he can discuss this with you so that you understand what it is and how important it is to keep your blood sugar as level as possible to help prevent complications.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Try and ask your doctor about diabetes education or support groups for teens. Also ask about diabetes camp.My daughter went for years and loved it.
It's important to know others with diabetes too.
You have type 1 diabetes and so far there is no cure, just treatment. When there is a cure, it will be for type 1 first and it could happen in your life time !
There are books and info for kids your age.
Check with the American Diabetes association.Look them up on the computer and call them- toll free.
I wish you the very best.

Are you a Type I diabetic and insulin dependent? If so, I have never heard of anyone outgrowing diabetes Type I. Juvenile diabetes is when the pancreas quits working and you depend upon insulin to live.
But who am I to say this, the Lord can heal you. Don't ever quit asking Jesus to heal you.
My daughter just had a pancreas and kidney transplant and she is no longer a Type I diabetic. She is doing fine.
May the Lord bless you.

Just want to clarify a few things I have read, since you have differing answers due to people talking about different diseases. First of all there are two types of diabetes: Type 1 (insulin dependent) and Type 2 (non-insulin dependent).
Type 1 is usually due to an autoimmune disease that attacks the beta cells in the pancreas and leads to an inability to produce insulin. This type of diabetes is not currently curable (more in last paragraph), but highly TREATABLE. Patients that keep DM under good control have a lifespan equal to that of healthy individuals.
Type 2 is due to insulin resistance, most commonly due to obesity, sedentary lifestyle, genes, and poor diet. This is treatable and sometimes curable. Diet control, weight loss, and exercise can completely CURE diabetese type 2 in some patients.
By your age, I assume that you have Type 1 since Type 2 is much more common in older patients, but is starting to show up in younger patients due to adolescent obesity.
POTENTIAL CURE: There is research currently being done on both pancreas transplants and there is excellent potential for stem cell regeneration of pancreatic beta cells - this is highly likely within the next 20 years, so while there is not currently a cure for type 1 there will likely be one within your lifetime.
Good luck.

My family has quite a few with diabetes, They are older than you are. By following a diet and with medication, they are doing great. I haven't heard outgrowing diabetes but i feel with proper diet and following doctors orders, who knows? However, to answer this properly you would probably have to speak to someone in the medical fields.
