It's funny that you mention mock duck, because my boyfriend and I just talked it over, and agreed that the weirdest mock meat we've had was fake duck at a chinese restaurant. We were really excited about trying it for the first time. When it came out, it certainly didn't look like duck meat; it was made of layer upon layer of this strange soy skin. And the taste, well, let's just say that we couldn't manage to finish it. It was pretty much like edible plastic. It was tasteless (except for the yummy sauce it was in), it took a lot of chewing, and it sounded like rubber on our teeth.

Aside from that, the one mock meat that I would say is weird awesome is fake fish. This one we had at a Thai restaurant - amazing! It even had a fake skin, made of seaweed, I think. I have no idea how they approximated the taste, but it was a lot like real fish (in a good way). I couldn't believe it was vegetarian. Wow, we should go there again.

sure. it relatively is vegan junk foodstuff. extreme in salt. tremendously processed and packed with preservatives. maximum mock meat is produced from genetically changed soy. The jury remains out on the hazards of GMO yet given some comments I even have considered, I won't take the probability. Veggie burgers produced from chickpeas and beans are a extra healthy determination. homestead-made ones are relatively uncomplicated and speedy to make. extra inexpensive than mock meat too. .

Mock shrimp is probably the weirdest. It looked like, and tasted like shrimp. I couldn't eat it. Yves Veggie Bologna slices have a very strange texture, but I never liked bologna when I did eat meat. Other than those, most aren't that weird to me.

A brand called MorningStar Farms makes soy corndogs. They are really good! Other than that, I haven't had the opportunity to try much since I live in Wisconsin, where the idea of purposely not eating meat has not and will not ever catch on.

Guess I'd have to say tofu dogs. No matter how I've doctored them up, they're still nasty. XP The exception would be Tofurky Italian Sausage, it's pretty good, didn't have to doctor it up at all.

MorningStar corndogs are really scrummy, and unfortunately, I've recently read the ingredients list. Egg white is one of the ingredients, which renders the product non-vegan. Dang, I'm a vegan, and those things taste really good.

Hot Dogs! I can't renember if it was Yves or Tofurky. They tasted exactly like hot dogs i ate as a child.

When i ate meat i didn't fully realize what it was. I think unconciously i belived i was eating something else probably wheat, soy or whatever. I renember the first time i ate red meat, i didn't like it. I felt pressured from a step-father to eat it and ate it only with lot's of pepper and salt.

I go to this wonderful Chinese restaurant, and for awhile, they had a vegetarian chef who made a bunch of mock meats. One of which was mock duck (or goose, I can't remember).
That was pretty weird. It was made of soy protein and bamboo. Yummy, but different.
Another one was some other kind of mock meat that we all thought was creepy... I don't remember what it was supposed to be imitating, but it was made of mushrooms and made my (vegan) friend gag (it was that realistic!).
Once we got used to it, it was great! *cheesy smile*

I have tried so many of them! I guess the mock pepperoni would run near the top with some of the different lunchmeats like pastrami.
