You could make a Tres Leche (Three Milk Cake) which is popular as part of Cuban cuisine. I usually bake my cakes from scratch, but you could buy yellow cake that is already baked or use a pound cake. This is a fairly wet dessert, similar to a bread pudding consistency.

Yellow cake
1 Can evaporated milk
8 oz. Half and Half
1 Can Condensed milk
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Place cake in a casserole dish. Mix liquids together well and pour over cake that has had holes poked in it with a toothpick. Cover cake and refrigerate overnight. Scoop up with a spoon and top with whipped cream and a cherry. Delicious.

Here is a quick one. Take one part cream of wheat and fry till golden brown in 1 part oil on a low heat. meanwhile boil 4 parts water and dissolve 1 to 2 parts sugar in it. Now add this to the frying cream of wheat. Careful it is going to splutter. Keep stirring over low heat till it thickens. Garnish with nuts and resins. Serve hot. It is called Halva.

Mexican Chocolate Moose - no cooking required:
cool whip
chocolate milk
cinnamon

I never follow a recipe, I just mix them together until the consistency and taste are to my liking.
