There is a possibility you could have a skin tag, and not genital warts. HPV can lay dormant in some women, and rear it's ugly head during pregnancy, when you are immuno-compromised. You do need to have your doctor look, to make a proper diagnosis. But if you do have warts, that does NOT mean you MUST have a C-section, there is no guarantee 'your baby will go blind' That's just bullsh!t. Herpes is much more serious, and has many more precautions, but just ask your doctor. Most growths go away, but if you are truly concerned, or it is a large one blocking the birth canal, they can do a freezing/acid treatment. Also, if you are not ready to get past your embaressment at telling your doctor (who, by the way, is legally bound to confidentiality) you may not be ready to be having a baby. Once you have a nurse/doctor/medstudent up to their elbows in your vagina, there really isn't that much to be embarrassed about. Good Luck!!

You need to go to your doctor and firstly figure out if you have warts for sure or not. It may be embarassing but she's gonna notice it eventually if she is examining you for for the pregnancy! Also, if it is warts it will be important to know this as if you have an outbreak when you are close to delivering, it is most likely you will need a c-section to prevent transmission of the virus to your new baby.

Okay dont listen to any of these uneducated people. They dont know what they are talking about people are in the dark when it comes to hpv. No she will not be dealing with hpv for the rest of her life. No there is no "cure" but there are several treatments that can eradicate or make the virus dormant were she can not pass it along. One is to freeze them off (faster but more painful). So if she is looking for the quickest way this would be the route to go. Second is aldara(the spelling could be off). Its a cream that signals to your immune system that these buggers are here and need to be taken care of. Also, there is an acid treatment they put acid on the wart so that is similar to freezing when it comes to the time factor (quick but more painful). And when it comes to if she will have this virus forever tell her that the medical world is doesnt have the answer yet...they dont know if you suppress the virus or if your body rids itself of the virus. Also if she smokes tell her to stop your immune system plays a big role in getting this virus under control. She has to go to the doctors...they see this aaaaalllll the time tell her that it is not the end of the world just a life lesson on safer sex.

It is very important for you and for the health of your unborn baby to always share whatever is worng, with your doctor. THey don't pass judgment on you, but think you're acting responsibly. Which is worse...telling your doctor or having the baby born with a communicable disease, or possibly even lose your baby immediately after birth? HPV can be treated...do so right away!

You need to speak to your doctor about this. So what if she's been your doctor that long. She knows your history and this needs to be taken very seriously. Grow up and talk to her about it. You could be putting your baby in danger.
