There's no need to fast. I'll provide you some websites with some good recipes. I ate "raw" for a week once (vegan and no cooked foods) and it was unbelievable how great I felt!!! I just don't have the time right now for a raw diet and dehydrating, etc. You also don't eat just fruits and veggies. There are so many options out there - once you start looking - that you won't believe how easy it is!
PETA offers a free become a vegetarian guide off of their site.
Also, be sure to watch www.meat.org - Not for young viewers but it will help your meat free motivation!
Good luck and congratulations on making the first step to a healthier and cruel-free living!!!

you proly have a few things here. your parents are at least slightly overweight right? so you proly have bad eating habits ontop of your genes to be a "bigger" person. nothing is wrong with your body type. infact there are 4 different bodies people can have for the sake of saving time ill just name a couple hypersthenic body, is a large build, barrel chested. my reasoning for this is that you may always have a bigger build. NOW, you can define yourself by a lot of diffferent ways. #1 DONT FAST. terrible idea. your body will do the opossite. It will start to think it needs to store fat, cause it doesnt get food often. ok so fruits/veggies is a good idea these are healthy foods. eat in smaller portions throughout the day, such as morning cereal liek multigrain cheerios or crispex or whatever their called. along with orange juice n other fruits, if you get hungry between meals eat an apple or something, but don't eat 3 huge portion (breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) by eating smaller portions throughout the day you will keep your metabolism going and burning more calories throughout the day. Also drink a good amout of water! #2 BE FIT- do active things like outside games or anything that keeps you moving, or you could try activities like running, walking and sprinting for a bit, or swimming. or definitely wokring out would be good for you as well. Higher reps would be good for you, not too much weight. anyways theres a lot more to this. and if you really want to change yourself and you MOST CERTAINLY CAN, then at least folow some of these steps. there are thousands on things online you can look up about workout plans or exercises. Exercising is a part of lie and humans were destined to do this. hope this helps you buddy!

Glad to know you want to become a veggie ^_^, we dont just eat fruits and veggies though..There are veggie stuff such as some of these brands:
-Morningstar(my fave I get alot of stuff from them)
-Amy's(They have a really good pot pie and some TV dinners)
-Quorn
Morningstar has ALOT of different types of food from breakfast stuff to appetizers to dinners :). Also if you go to there website they have all these recipes you can do using there products.
www.morningstarfarms.com
My fave is the veggie taco salad it's really good :).
You don't have to fast, if you really feel that this is going to be hard for you try going slowly like 1 veggie item for the day and so forth for the first week then after that no meat at all. It's going to be hard the first month but after that it's pretty easy :).
Good Luck!

You don't need to fast, that's not so great for your health anyway unless it's done with proper medical supervision.
And there's no reason to only eat fruits and veggies. There's a world of delicious options out there for vegetarians, including grains, tofu, beans, and all kinds of yummy foods.
Why not pick up a vegetarian cookbook and start exploring?

When I switched over, I didn't have to fast first. Just decide on a day that you want to begin and then go from there.
When it gets hard, just remember all the benefits to what you are doing.
