Sounds like your airways are congested which would suggest bronchitis. Pneumonia is down in the lungs causing wheezing, congestion, difficulty breathing, etc. In bronchitis only the airways are involved which would cause the bronchitis bc it involves the airways. You need to see your doctor and get some medication and let him/her listen to your chest sounds. Good luck, hope you feel better soon!

I just got over bronchitis and I had a tight chest, a bad cough, thick mucus and wheezing. I don't know too much about pneumonia. It wouldn't hurt to get checked out by your doc.
Hope you're well soon!!

The primary symptoms of pneumonia are fever, chills, cough, chest pain, and shortness of breath. The patient often coughs up sputum (pronounced SPYOO-tum; usually made up of saliva, mucus, dead cells, and other materials) that may be streaked with pus or blood. In the severest cases, a patient shows signs of cyanosis (pronounced SI-uh-no-sis). Cyanosis is caused when a patient's blood is not getting enough oxygen. It is characterized by a blue tint on the nail beds or lips.
The major symptoms of walking pneumonia are:
Moderate to severe cough - often junky sounding, but not always.
Sustained rapid or labored breathing (as opposed to temporary rapid breathing from a high fever).
Medium to high fever - usually will be over 102, but not always.
Chest pains - not just during coughing, but in between coughing fits as well.
Vomiting - not just vomiting from a big coughing fit, but vomiting even in between coughing fits.
Blue color around the lips and face - from lack of oxygen.
Wheezing - although wheezing is more often a sign of a viral chest cold, it sometimes can mean pneumonia.
Usually begin with vague symptoms such as feeling tired or weak, headaches, sore throat, or diarrhea.
Eventually, most develop a dry cough. They can, also, develop fever, chills, earaches, chest pain, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and muscle or joint pains. A few patients may feel short of breath.
People do not appear as sick as those suffering from other types of Pneumonias do.

if you had bacterial pneumonia you wouldn't be asking the question you'd be so sick you'd want to go to a doctor. all pneumonia is not the same. some people do get around with pneumonia usually a viral type, avoiding treatment, but eventually it will catch up to them. you likely have acute bronchitis, or perhaps a upper airway (sinus/nasal) infection, that can also cause cough and sore throat and even have a fever.

you need to contact your Dr, I have been in the hospital over 10 times in Little over a year and a half with pneumonia... bilateral... double... and walking.... sounds like bronchitis right now but can progress to pneumonia in a matter of hours. If it was pneumonia what you cough up would be green or a sea-green in color... you would be running fever of 101 or greater best to call your Dr get treatment going soon as possible

Id get it checked out. Temp usually means some kind of bug or infection. Bronchitis can quickly turn into pnemonia or "walking pnemonia. Plus it also depends on when u inhale if you can feel it in uur cheast. But again not to be taking lightly, go to doctor get some meds probably amoxacillian or zythromiacin is what youll get. Plus a good decongestiant

Usually if the mucus is clear it's allergies. But if you are running a fever that is a sign of infection and you should see a doctor. They will need to do a chest x-ray to see if it is pneumonia.

Bronchitis.I have it right now. I am using Mucinex to loosen up that mucus. You can get it over the counter. Drink lots of clear liquids and take Tylenol and most of all Rest Rest rest. Drink hot tea with lemon and honey in it for your throat. Iced water is good too. Then if you can make some chicken soup,it would help. I made some and it really helps! good Luck friend..Get Well!!!

More likely you have bronchitis, but you should see a doctor for a proper diagnosis. You might need medication to clear it up.

It's bronchitis.. You're not coughing anything up because the infection isn't in your lungs, it's in your bronchial tubes.
