yup. animal all the way
Here is some backup info on the food that adds the jiggle to your jello.
Gelatin is a protein that is made by boiling connective tissue of an animal; such as the skin and bones.

So if you are veg it is time to drop the jello and the marsh mallows.:)

Hope this helps you.

Yes, gelatin comes from animals. More specifically, it comes from the bones of animals. Anyone who has ever boiled chicken pieces before to make soup knows that when the chicken cools off it's got jello-like stuff all over it. I actually used to be a vegetarian as well, but I ended up going back to eating meat. There's a big difference between an animal being skinned for their fur(disgusting) and thrown away and an animal being slaughtered for food for hundreds of people.

Gelatin does come from horses' and cows' hooves. They are boiled for the nail starch.

However, check your local natural foods stores: there are gelatin substitutes made from carrageenan, a sea vegetable, that may work for you. Or some gelatin foods recipes can be made with corn starch. Also, while some candies (e.g., gummie bears) are made with gelatin, others (e.g., swedish fish) are made with corn starch. Check the label.
