Find another doc and take your husband in and talk to him or her and get another sleep study. It may have been long enough for your insurance to fund another study or something may have changed in your health IE; weight loss or gain that may warrant another study. Maybe a new doc may just make a good enough case for one. Another thought is to start getting a copy of your old study and get it reread, the data is subjective and another set of eyes may see things differently in a borderline case.
Sleep apnea has been an issue in my family and I understand your problem. Good luck to you and your husband, find someone who will listen to you and keep after them until you get your study. Answers are good, after you have current information you can look at options whether a Pap mask or surgery. However, if surgery is suggested as a remedy remember this surgery is a serious piece of work, with a tough recovery and get a second opinion to be sure you have no other choices.

I would recommend a 2nd sleep study if the 1st one was years ago. Your problem may have been very mild back then and has now progressed. Some symptoms are excessive dat-time sleepiness, tossing and turning at night, stop breathing for periods during the night and snoring. There is no way to monitor your sleep at home. The study must be done in a sleep lab because of all the specialized equipment to monitor your breathing, brain wave activity etc...

If you suspect that you have sleep apnea, ask your doctor to prescribe an auto titration CPAP machine.
This device furnishes a constant air pressure to ensure that your airway remains open during sleep. If you are prone to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) this device will increase the positive air pressure when it detects that your airway is closing to ensure that you continue to breath.
Many suppliers of these machines will loan them for a few days so that a determination as to whether or not a problem exists can be made.

exercises, weight management and oxygen machine (don't know the name of the machine but your doctor should be able to help you more, its a machine with a mask that provides you with O2 while you sleeping) should be the best treatment so far

You should request another sleep test. Apnea can be very unhealthy for you. My husband has it and without the help of his CPAP unit he is tired constantly.
