ok this is the fourth time in 2 yrs that my right lung has suddenly started hurting, to the point that it hurts alot to breathe. any ideas as to why this is happening? it usually lasts about 3 days and goes away slowly. the pain is in the back of my lung, and no i dont smoke. i'm 43 yrs old, and i have rhuematoid arthritis and fibromyalgia,and a few herniated disks, and sciatica. so i know what different pains feel like, this is for sure my lung, i just dont know why it does this.

Holy Crap!!! Get to a pulmonary specialist immediately if you haven't done so and find out what the heck is going on. it could be nothing; it courld be everything.

I have gotten sharp stabbing pains before that felt like it was my lung, turns out it was just one of the muscles near it. However, definitely see your doctor, but don't over worry yourself.

lung cancer? get a chest x-ray.
classic symptoms. i don't wanna scare you. but its better to know. i think.
