Actually, here in Japan BOTH methods are equally acceptable - and as sushi is Japanese I think that should settle the argument!

It actually depends. For makki sushi (the rolls), you should always use chopsticks. However, for nigiri sushi (the fish pieces on rice) you can use other - it depends on the situation. With friends, family, casual business associates, etc. it's perfectly acceptable to eat with your hands. In extremely formal situations, it'd be necessary to use chopsticks. Use discretion.

Use a chopstick. Dip it in soysauce mixed with the green wasabi and put it in your mouth. I'm hungry describing the process of eating sushi.

You may eat sushi with chopsticks or with bare hands. They are bite sized, ready-to-pick foods, so why you need to choose if gonna munch it using with hands or use with chopsticks? You can do it in anyway you want.........BUT don't use fingers if you'll gonna eat it in a fastfood chain. It is quite embarassing.^_^
Try to dip it in soy sauce or hot vinegar. It is great!!!
I really love sushi with eggs (Eggy Sushi ^_^).

According to what I saw on a television program on Asian cuisine, you are supposed to eat the Sushi with your hands, and you are supposed to eat it all in one mouthful. It is out of respect to the sushi master that you eat it all at once and with your hands...
The ginger is not supposed to be mixed in to anything but rather used as a pallete cleanser..the wasabi is to be mixed in the soy sauce!

Technically, you are supposed to use chopsticks and pick up one piece at a time and put the whole thing in your mouth. It is considered rude/messy to bite at sushi... just put the whole thing in. Also, you aren't supposed to put the pickled ginger on the sushi, it is meant to clean your palate between pieces. Enjoy!
