You might have an allergic reaction to some type of food or contact with an animal or plant or even carpet fibers can cause a stuffy nose. Probably good idea to see a doctor and have him run a series of tests to see if you are allergic to something.

Steam your sinuses. Boil a pot of water then put your face over it (not too close -- don't get burned!) and cover your head with a big towel creating a canopy to hold the steam in on your face. Breathe in for 15-20 minutes.
Go to the drugstore and get a decongestant and an expectorant. Afrin nasal spray works wonders for opening my nasal passages -- you can only use it for three days at a time, however.

Have you ever tried using plain "saline solution" to moisten the lining of the nose and prevent it from drying up? One brand is called "Ocean Mist"; Walgreen's or CVS drug stores have their own generic brand. Just a thought.

you can also use warm water with a little salt in it and tilt your head sideways and pour the water in one of your nostrils breathe normally through you mouth while doing it and it will drain out of the other nostril
you need something with a spout like a small teapot
also you can become dependent on the sprays if you use them to much and it will make it worse

Try this: hold your nostrils completely shut, breath out completely thru your mouth, and without breathing in, hold your breath for 10 seconds. Take in one breath and exhale. Then repeat the procedure a few times. I read that in a book on asthma.

You can rub a menthal cream on your upper lip or chest.
That will help break up the congestion in your nose and help you breath.
I know it smells funny but it does help!
