No. the stapler is just the mechanical apparatus. That actual staple, that would possibly share bodily fluids with the HIV positive person--has already been plucked out of his/her skin and tossed. The stapler is fine.
Hasn't someone used this stapler on paper a couple of times since the last incident?
Also the HIV virus only lives for about an hour outside of the human body. If the HIV person in question got stabbed by a staple more than one hour ago, you have absolutely nothing at all to worry about--even if their dried blood is still on the stapler.
Why are you guys stapling yourselves so often? I suggest that you both Stop it. Be a lot more careful.

It's a slim possibility. However most staplers will discharge the staple when it's used, so the second person stabbed with the same stapler would have a fresh staple in their skin and not the same one that the first person got. It's better to see a doctor just in case though. Any transfer of body fluids (blood, semen, saliva) runs the risk of getting HIV.

Not only would the stapler have to be the same it would have to be the same staple. And you would have to be stabbed with the same staple within minutes of it stabbing someone HIV+. Suppose it could happen in theory but you would just about have to deliberately do it.

HIV is transmitted by blood or other body fluids. if their is blood on the stapler, then yes, you could get HIV. But being that staples used are different every time, it is unlikely that there would be blood to get in your wound. Why are you getting stapled?

Hiv can be spread by the exchange of blood. Hiv does not have a lable that can be seen, most people that have it look healthy. Assume that everyone you see could have hiv because you can not tell by looking at someone.

you should not contract aids from the stapler. It is not the same staple going in your finger.the virus does not survive a long time once exposed to the environment.it dies very quickly.
