I didn't want it either, but you know what? Even though I knew it ran in the family and my mother lost her life because of it, I continued to eat like a fool and sat around doing nothing. Guess what... I'm diabetic. At first, I was in denial and continued to eat poorly. One day, it dawned on me, that maybe I don't want to die like my mom. So I embarked on a mission to learn all I could to minimize or eliminate the problems associated with diabetes. Here's the deal.... it really is no big deal to take care of (type 2) diabetes. You don't have to lose feet, eyes, and stuff if you control your blood sugar.

Now about you. If you are worried that you might get it, and you probably will if you continue the current mindset, then now is the time to work on your thought processes. Read your message a few times and see what it says. You don't want diabetes, but you love what causes it (junk food and being lazy). Does that sound nuts? To me it sure does, but I fully understand. I was there just a few years ago. Sweetie, it's time for a complete lifestyle change.

You can avoid diabetes and the complications it brings if you act now. Read my diabetes info webpage and follow the links I provide. Learn all you can about eating healthy. If you are having trouble with your goofy mindset, I've provided links that will help you change it to a more positive, rational way of thinking. (see the weightloss and depression links) Everything you need to stay healthy is right there... just a click away. Don't follow in the footsteps of your relatives, my mom, and me.... show your family that you have the strength to overcome this. You can do it if you really want to. Here's the link:

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

And how do you think we can help you? You know full well there is no cure.

You probably got it already but have not been officially diagnosed yet.

It is YOUR choice and only YOU can do something about it. It is either - get a healthy lifestyle and avoid losing body parts OR continue to be lazy (as you said you are), continue with the junk food and risk losing body parts. IT IS UP TO YOU. There is NO magic formula.

You have to decide - what do love most: junk food (with tv) or your body parts?

TV in itself is fine - it won't make you have diabetes. Just don't spend all the time sitting watching it. Go out and exercise and get fresh air and have a healthy lifestyle... YOU CAN BEAT THIS!

You will have to make the choice to resist temptation or succumb to diabetes. There is no magic formula, no one thing you can do to have both all the junk food you want and no worries about diabetes. Look at it this way: It's just food. There is so much more to your life than food. Splurge once in awhile and then get your priorities straight. It's up to you, it's your choice. Be strong.

Just one thing...
I HOPE I WONT READ A QUESTION FROM YOU SOON WHICH WILL START LIKE " I RECENTLY GOT DIABETES...etc. etc....?"
Answer number one is not good in calling your question stupid, but the rest of it is pretty much the answer to your question, as also lots of other people have answered,
what you need is to stop eating junk food and to start exercizing!

And no compromises...start right now!

Because if you don't, you wil most probably reach a point when you'll want to turn back time and then there will be no answer on "How to do it"

I wish you good luck and remember that when there's a will, there's a way.

First of all, it is a very genetic disease, but that doesn't mean you WILL get it... My mother is diabetic, so is my grandmother and some of my cousins... but I am not and neither are my kids... so far! What you have to do is to eat healthy... cut out most of your junk food.. and get some exercise two or three times a week! ;)
I know we have to face things in our lives, but we cannot expect to get help from someone unless we are willing to help ourselves.
We have to be willing and able to make sacrifices, like junk food, sweets and tv watching for hours on end. you have to also want to be healthy... it sounds like you do, but you have to carry it through and make the comittment! What you also have to do is to cut the carbs in your diet, watch the count on the labels of the food you buy... watch out for the sugars, but the carbs are the biggy... My husband is insulin resistant now, he is less careful than when he was diagnosed with diabetes.. it was in 2002, he was in a diabetic coma.... we didn't know it till the next morning.... on Christmas Eve night, and on Christmas morning we had to rush him to the ER in our town hospital.... his blood sugar was 1248... that is off the charts! The normal blood sugar count is between 70 and 120 for most people! My husband nearly died that week,... he was comatose for over 5 days...
We were scared, but after that alot more careful and checking his blood sugar count 2-3 times a day... he was put on a strict carb diet...about 30 grams per meal... that was near starvation!
What I'm trying to tell you without scare tactics is that if you aren't serious about this and you take it for granted after all your family history, it is possible that you could be in a similar situation
My biggest wish for you this holiday is that you will change your own life,... start the New Year with a new goal to eat right, be healthy and exercise... lose weight if you need to and if not, then just don't put excess weight on... it's tougher to lose it... learn from your family history and don't be a willing part of the "team"!
Pray for your family and your own sake to be able to "break the chain" of this deadly disease and to start being much healthier!
If you want help, it has to come from within... from your self first!
I am fighting my own battles of eating addictions... I have won the battle over chocolate... (don't laugh! I am a true chocoholic...! I'm now a non eater, but working on sweets and sugary treats! It's a harder time right now than any other time,... but so far it's been 3 days!) I have been an overeater and comfort eater for many years, but I am slowly getting better now... I just have to work on losing the weight gain... and my son is my greatest support, but I have to do it for myself first, not him or anyone else... It's so nice of him to do this with me though... He is a good young man!
Good luck, Best wishes to you and your family at this Christmas time... I hope that everyone is well and you all have a good holiday!

You really need to lay off of the junk and exercise regularly. Usually you develop diabetes as a child, while you are pregnant or later in life (50s or 60s). It is hereditary, but doesn't usually develop in mid life. However, if you are predisposed to it, a trauma may bring it out earlier. If you have the gene for it, it is inevitable, however you need to be living at least somewhat of a healthy lifestyle to prevent other things.
