We have decided to have steaks for our Christmas Eve meal. We can't decide on what veggie to have to go with it. What do you think?

I would do a salad w/ fresh spring mix greens, dried cranberries,
candied pecans, and crumbled blue cheese. Serve with a raspberry vingearette dressing. This will give your dinner a xmas feel while waking the taste buds.

All fruits are fresh vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which is employed for food.

In the superstore, fruits are usually selected much too soon. Some are rocks, many are bad. Some of the fresh vegetables are typical right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

I like carrots with steak.
There are tons of great recipes for glazed carrots if you want something a little fancier since it's for Christmas!

i think buttered string beans, corn kernels and diced carrots would be great to go with it, you can also add garlic - brocolli for more color, texture and taste.

i think it is great that you are putting importance on getting veggies in the meal.

Asparagus. Either wrapped in bacon and grilled or steamed and dripping with butter and italian dressing from a cruette. YUM!

with steak, i marinate cut up zuchini, yellow squach, peppers, onion, and mushroom in balsamic vinagerette dressing and then grill them (in a basket) right along side the steak.

Broccoli is always good. You can have it steamed, buttered or in a cheese sauce depending on what you like.
