I showed him that Pasta is made out of eggs and now he refuses to eat anything with pasta in it. I respect him wanting to be a vegetarian but he already has such a limited choice of food and he LOVES pasta ...wat should I do?

He doesn't have a limited choice of food. And if you use dry pasta, it rarely has egg in it. Check the package before you buy, and show him the package.

Also, do both of you a favor and look for some vegetarian cooking courses to take together. At the very least, take the courses yourself. It tells your boyfriend that you do care and that you are both accepting of his choices and willing to expand your own skills. Such a course will prove to you that vegetarians have a broad range of choices. There is a saying that you know that you're a vegetarian when you know more about another person's cuisine than does that person.

Tell him most Vegetarians do eat eggs. That it is Vegans that don't eat eggs. Or you can make an eggless pasta for him. Not all pasta is made from eggs! You can make perogie dough with flour, water, alittle baking pwder a few drops of cooking oil! With perogie dough you can make nearly all kinds of pasta!

It's not your duty to change him. There are tons of vegans in the world - not eating pasta isn't going to kill him as long as he's eating healthy otherwise.

However, eggs are not in every kind of pasta - I think that you both overreacted. I have a box of Barilla pasta in front of me and there are no eggs. Semolina, Duram Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine, Mononitrate, Riboflavin, and Folic Acid are the ingredients. Barilla is an internationally available brand. It's available in all our mass market grocery stores locally.

Head to the grocery store and read ingredients labels. I think that you'll both be surprised at what you find. : )

First off, is he a vegetarian or a vegan? Is it a health issue or an animal rights issue?

Second, there are many vegan pastas. While it is inconvenient for you to find such foods, they basically substitute with a non-egg ingredient. You'd be amazed at how many soy products are available now a days.

Your vegan boyfriend can eat other pastas. Read the labels. Not all pasta is egg noodles.

Most dried pasta doesn't have eggs. Egg noodles do, but most other dried pastas don't. Show him those boxes! Other than that, you better get good at making rice dishes...

I've only known egg noodles to have eggs. Whole wheat pasta and regular pasta (spaghetti, angel hair etc) don't have egg in it.
