Well I'm afraid there's no way to make the cold go away faster, but you can lessen the yucky symptoms.

I had a bad one recently - I always find that chewing strong peppermint gum helps a lot. I also use a decongestant nasal spray a couple of times a day - Sudafed is excellent. Also take hot steamy baths with some kind of vapour bath oil, all supermarkets sell various varities.

It's also important to drink a lot - water that is! And rest if at all possible - if you do too much, the cold will hang on longer.

Finally, spicy food is excellent, as are onions and garlic.

Hope you feel better soon!

OK this is going to sound weird but it works. Dip a Q-tip in Hydrogen Peroxide and let a few drops go in one ear. If it starts bubbling let it stay in your ear until it stops. If nothing happens then do the same thing to the other ear.
There is a theory that when we get colds we are actually getting them through our ears.
Anyway it works for runny noses and within a few hours.
Good luck!

Try the Alkaseltzer gelcaps for colds- get both daytime and night time, take one in the morning and one before you go to bed. Any cold is going to take time to clear up but these seem to help it move a little faster.

Sudaphed and Mucinex. But the only thing that will clear up your cold is time. You can try taking a vitamin C product to help. I like Emergen-C.

A clean handkerchief is good thing to have besides there are dozens and dozens of over the counter remedies available but none works great. I rub wicks over my nose and it helps at least temporarily.

Mucinex and Airborne. I swear by the combination. Take the airborne several times a day, Mucinex by package instructions.
