Health care is the dominant issue for the aging, Teresa. The cost of prescription medicines, the availability of doctors and health care facilities all play into decisions about where one will live when mobility becomes a problem. Medicare, Medicaid and private health insurance are an absolute necessity when one is no longer able to work, because the cost of all these things can easily take every cent of savings leaving little or nothing for housing and food. Protect your health, plan for old age long before you think you need to. It sneaks up on you and unfortunately, there is no way to turn the clock back.
