No way, it's wonderful raw. If you pick it before it gets hard and tough it isn't at all bitter. Look for the young tender shoots which can be snapped off, or cut with a dull knife like a butter knife.

Oleander is poisonous!!! Asparagus, whether wild or not, is not poisonous and is tasty and delicious. I've never heard raw asparagus as being poisonous but there are certain vegetables where you can't absorb all the nutrients without them being lightly cooked, maybe asparagus is one of these.

Don't know about oleander (looked it up in my Food Lover's Companion and it's not listed), but raw asparagus is not poisonous.

No, I eat it raw all the time during the growing season. It is best if picked when its around 6" long. Much longer it will become woody.

No. How can raw veggies be poisonous in their natural sate.

It has more minerals and vitamins in the Raw.

I eat in raw
but it is best barely warm

the smelly pee is worth it
