well when i was a vegetarian i never encountered any health issue just be sure to drink your vitamins and eat plenty of protein also be sure to drink lots of water as well. o yea and exercise too. when your a vegetarian its the same as being a meat eater....only you have to look at which foods give you protein cause meats WERE your main source of protein.

The only health issue is the stress you may feel from constantly having to explain yourself to people. But if that doesn't stress you out, you're home free!!

Of course, as with ANY diet, it is important to make sure that you are getting all of the nutrients you need. If you are vegan, eating lots of raw fruits and vegetable is a great way to do this beacuse eating raw food means you get a load of vitamins and minerals in their natural form. These foods also have a healthy pH which has not been adulterated by the high heats of cooking. You also have to think a little bit more about menus to make sure you are getting a good balance of things and including foods that have calcium, vitamin D, iron, protein, etc. All of these suggestions that may seem stressful actually become second nature and you eventually stop thinking about it once you learn what foods have what and all of that. Also, keep in mind, if you're worried about lack of calcium as a woman (or man), that weight-bearing exercise helps prevent osteoperosis (it can be something as simple as walking), and that you have to have vitamin D to assimilate calcium.

Correctly designed raw food diets and vegan diets have been shown over and over to improve people's health.

I've been a vegan since i was in 3rd grade. I also have severe case of britttle bones. the doctor said it might be because of the lack of dairy in my diet, so i take calcium pills. Brittle bones is not specifically caused by lack of dairy, but my doctor said it's a good chance that i break so many bones because of it. i'm 14 and i have broken 43 bones from when i was 8 to now. Also being severely under weight is a cause from being a vegan. I weigh 84 lbs, and I am often accused of being anorexic (which i'm not). Brittle bones and being underweight are some causes that i know of because of being a vegan.

Having not been eating the most healthy diet recently(combined with the lack of sleep due to being a high schooler) I personally have been a bit more susceptible to colds etc this winter. However, assuming you (unlike me) are responsible, get your sleep/ nutrients, etc, you should be in amazing health! I know that most people are, and I believe that I will be once I convince my family that there IS a produce section at the grocery store...Just remember, when in doubt about your nutrient intake, supplements are good for you.

Well, I was having some health problem for awhile.

I went strict vegan and I was the healthiest I have ever been, more energy, lost weight, I never got sick once.

It is a pretty hard diet to keep, because around where I live that kind of food is really expensive.

Overall, I eat well and I'm healthy in general, but for the past few days I've been anemic, I need to eat more iron and protien. Vitamins can help with that, but that is the only problem I've encountered. I have noticed that I feel healthier, more energetic and not so 'bogged down'.

Nope. In fact, I feel better than ever! I have been a vegetarian for 6 years and a vegan for almost a year.

Before I learned how to get proper nutrient balances, my moods got out of control, I was deathly gray, and just felt horrible and tired all the time. Once I learned about proper nutrition, the problems disappeared.
