You cannot catch SDI's from a toilet seat but there are plenty of other nasties settled there and on EVERY surface inside a toilet. That is why it is essential to wash hands after using a toilet. When you sit on the seat you then transfer germs etc to your thighs and then on to your clothes and in a short time you are one contaminated person. If I ever use a toilet away from home I always have a good shower and a change of clothing as soon as I can.
Try not to worry and have a wonderful Christmas.

Crabs, or pubic lice, may be transmitted through sexual contact, sleeping in infected bedding, sharing infected clothing and possibly through sitting on an infested toilet seat. However, lice cannot survive away from the human body for longer than 24 hours. So contracting pubic lice from a toilet seat is possible, but it's unlikely.
It's highly unlikely that you would get a sexually transmitted disease (STD), such as chlamydia or genital herpes, from a toilet seat. Most STDs are transmitted only during sexual contact, either by skin-to-skin contact or through exchange of bodily fluids. The microorganisms — bacteria and viruses — that cause STDs tend to be highly sensitive to environmental conditions and can't survive outside the human body for very long.

Did you ever see the graffiti -It's no use standing on this seat cos the crabs in here jump fifteen feet. Only joking. No you can't catch a STD from a toilet seat but I never sit on them unless I really have to. And then I cover the seat with bog paper first.

Yes, there are certain things that can live on a toilet seat but it doesn't stay there for very long. But it is very unlikely that you will catch something from sitting on a toilet seat. You have a better chance catching something from a door nob, counter tops, kitchen, computer keyboard and computer area or phone to name a few things before getting something from the toilet seat.

Unless a large amount of fluids containing an STI, enters your main bloodstream, it is not likely, the chances of this happening are 0.001 % of 100, so don't be too afraid of your workplace toilets, either use large amount of toilet paper due to transfer of bacteria or simply tell your boss to get darn toilets cleaned!

one thing you can catch is crabs, cause you are not relying on contact between the virus and your bloodstream, they are little mites so they can jump off sum one who uses the loo b4 u and onto u, like head lice. other than that, some sti virus's need to get into your bloodstream like hepatitis, aids, but some like herpes, as in genital cold sores, can be passed from skin to skin, i think, i'm not 100% on the herpes as it is a virus but you get the picture. i do the same with public toilets, people shoot up drugs in there and if they bleed and just wipe up the blood with loo paper the virus or germs are still there. aids can only survive for approx 2 hours outside the body but hep for much longer.
go with it girl, its not hurting you to crouch instead of sit, just make sure you dont tell young vulnerable people you can catch stuff from toilet seats, it will mess with their head every time they go!!!

If he left poo in it i doubt you can catch a STI through that. It's more likely if he done a handed business and left his residue on the seat and then you sat on it really.

technically you can. I got this information from a Dr. and she said that yes you can. The STD can live on there for at least 45 minutes after being in contact with an infected person. So yes, you are right to not sit on the toilet seat.

probably not STI's! but they dont sound very hygienic and you could possibly pick up germs, but then u can anywhere when u consider how many people dont wash their hands after the toilet! keep up with good diet and exercise to keep u healthy and boost your immune system and request that someone cleans the toliets at work! im sure u have rights as an employee. i wouldnt sit on them until they are clean cos its just not hygienic!
