I became vegetarian 3 years ago, then I switched to vegan after 1 year. I initially became vegetarian after reading "Fast Food Nation," and becoming disgusted with the meat industry. During the year that I was vegetarian, I learned more and more about the meat industry, and the egg and dairy industries as well. I was interested in being vegan, but it seemed like an overwhelmingly big step. Then, I saw the film "Peacable Kingdom," and that was the final push that I needed. I became vegan that day, and I have not looked back. It took me a couple of months to figure out what I could eat and what I had to avoid, but now being vegan is so easy. I am really glad that I am doing my best not to contribute to animal suffering.

It's been 8 years. I'm slowly progressing towards veganism. I became one because my grandfather raises cows when I was little my parents failed to mention that I was eating my fury friends. Mostly I became a vegetarian when I realized what or who the meat was. Over the years it has become about much more though. It's the easiest thing to stick to a veg diet, I dont know why people are so attached to eating animals.

Well, I've been a vegetarian for 2 years. I became one because one day I saw my Uncle outside and he had a gun, then I saw this poor deer just running across the Forest. And then My uncle shot it..........That's why I'm a vegetarian.

20yrs - since I was born. I was raised vegetarian by my parents (neither of my parents grew up vegetarian but at some point they both decided they wanted to) and although they wouldn't mind if I chose to eat meat, I have never had the desire to.

I made the choice to become vegan 2 years ago.
I did it because I believe that as a consumer the best way to make my voice heard, to have an impact and invoke change is with the simple lifestyle choices that I can make every minute of everyday.
