I just noticed them in the Mexican section of our local grocery store. I was hesitant, but used them to make the stock for a butternut squash and sausage soup- and it is phenomenal!! Anyone else have any good ideas or recipes? I understand they are excellent is salsas, as well...

Luke M: didn't think the question was that difficult?! Either you have used them or you have not! I think they are relatively new, and have not been able to find many recipes. Wondering what others have done with them.

SexyTroja... your answer is great for people who have access to the canned ones. I prefer them fresh from Central America myself. But I do not have access to them. I live without my own transportation and cannot afford to spend $30 on a taxi just to get to a store where they might be sold. I was skeptical about the cubes, as I hate chicken, beef bullion, etc. I use vegetable broth powder when I can get it, etc. But thse were actually quite good, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Haunted, I think I understand what Luke was saying, lol.

Personally, I hate bullion cubes. Stock comes readily available and it's not as salty.

As for chipotle flavor, the chiles come in a can. One chile will flavor the pot or the dish very nicely.
