It's just as terrible for the person doing it, but it doesn't cause second hand smoke. On a personal note, it's just as disgusting.

Some say if you chew you get mouth cancer and if you smoke you get lung cancer

If you chew it does not have second had smoke.

Both are bad - as you probably know. Chewing tobacco is worse in my opinion - its dirty, filthy, and it makes the chewer look idiotic - big fat wad in his/her mouth, spitting in some cup. yuk.

Chewing is worse because you will get mouth cancer. No way around it. And your teeth will be discolored, difficulty eating, etc..
