STDs are diseases that evolved with time. It is a theory that AIDS came from monkeys in Africa and then evolved. Most diseases mutated throughout the years and now affect humans, just like the bird flu will soon.
Now, everything on this Earth, in my opinion, was put on this Earth by God, maybe to teach us a lesson, maybe not. I dont know. But I think that the diseases are out there and God could be trying to tell us to be more careful on what we do. Some of us choose not to listen and thats why we have so many spreads of dieases all over the place.
If you have unprotected sex, you are making yourself at risk for an STD. If you get it then I guess you could say that God is teaching you a lesson cause you didnt use good judgment when you could of. God didnt give that person an STD, though, they did themselves by using human judgment, just like Adam and Eve I guess you could say.

STD's are not a punishment from God. Is cancer a punishment for some sin you committed in your lifetime? No. People get diseases no matter if they are just prone to get them or they acquire them by something they do. God is a loving God and does not punish us and want to hurt us. Whatever sins you committ you will have to answer to Him one day, but He does not give you a disease to make you suffer from something you have done.
