I have a gynecologist that I go to for yearly exams. Can I call and make an appointment to get tested for STDs, including HIV? or should I go to Planned Parenthood?

Go to your gynecologist. His/her job is to know everything about the female reproductive system, including diseases that affect it. He/she is also familiar with your medical history.
Perhaps you are embarrassed that you need STD testing and you are afraid to go to your gyn. You should not be. First of all, your health information is protected by the federal HIPPA law. That means your doctor cannot talk to anyone but YOU about it, unless YOU give them permission. Second, the doctor is probably already testing/treating other women in his practice for STDs. You are not going to be the first and you are not going to shock the doctor. Third, if you test possitive, prompt treatment for the condition will have a better outcome than if the disease has progressed. Fourth, if you test negative, your mind will be at ease.
If embarrassment is an issue for you, you do not need to tell the nurse everything when you make the appointment. Give the bare minimum information, ( " I am having pain, discharge, etc.") just enough to get you in the door.
No one is going to 'know' why you went to your gyn and it is none of their business. It is your business to take care of your body, including getting testing if you suspect a problem.

No by all means go to your Gynecologist, b/c you have been with her for years and at planned parenthood you are just another person there getting tested. Every 6 months I go to my doctor and not to any clinics, I guarantee you it won't be a problem for them to test you in there office.

You can go to either one. If you are not comfortable going to your regular GYN then go to Planned Parenthood, its more anonymous.

You can do either i know my friend thought she had hpv and she went to planned parenthood...so it's really what you want to do
