I was talking to my friend about this (oh yea its my daughters bday today!!) I honestly think Aids/HIV is gods way of evening out the sheep. If you catch my drift. If we had a cure for every disease, illness out there than we would be over populated. Everything happens for a reason, and i believe that if you catch aids other than that of born with it, raped and/or married and infidelity arises, that you got aids because you chose not to play it safe and we should not be feeling sorry for you. If we make a cure than everyone that has aids/hiv lives...My friend mentioned if i was in this position however i wouldnt feel the same, but honestly i would. If i decided to have sex,and got aids it was my fault for not be responsible. But thats just my opinion.....

I dont consider it ridiculous, cause Look at all the other std's out there and the ones that have a cure. All that did was tell teenagers and others that having sex is ok, and if you get an std all you have to do is go to the dr and get it fixed and your all better. At least aids gives some kind of pressure to abstain from it until mature enough to act responsible.

and no im not a moron, did you not see i mentioned those that were born with it etc were an exception. Its actually not an idiotic question. Its different if you get sick, but aids is contracted through sex. Just like any other STD if you decide to have sex you are putting yourself up for consequences..This is in no way referring to those who had no choice in the decision.

OK LET ME PUT THIS IN BOLD PRINT, I AM REFERRING TO SEXUAL ACTIVITIES, AND SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES. IM NOT REFERRING TO ANY OTHER ILLNESS. AND OR THOSE BORN WITH IT. AND IF SOMEONE DOES HAVE AIDS IM NOT SAYING TO KICK THEM OUT THE DOOR JUST THAT ITS THEIR FAULT FOR HAVING IRRESPONSIBLE SEX.
Think of teen parents ( like me) i chose to have sex and i got pregnant and i didnt expect for anyone to feel sorry for me. I dealt with my consequences. and that it was im referring to with aids. if you decide to have sex than you risk getting AIDS/HIV so you have to deal with it.

I dont agree with you on the rape part someone cant help it if they get raped its no ones choice to get raped. But in the other instances yeah I agree with you 1000%. That goes with other std's as well. I mean there are contraceptives for both men and women out there so no one should have an excuse.

I read in a newspaper article yesterday that to keep AIDS/HIV patients alive it cost $600,000 a year per patient a year. That is way ridiculous!!

I understand what you mean, but nobody deserves this disease. No matter what. Some people are in relationships with people they trust and have unprotected sex and acquire the disease. How is that bad? If you love someone and think you will be with them forever and they give you a disease how is it something you deserve. We are humans, we make mistakes. I am sure there are a lot of normal acting/looking humans, that have good jobs, are attractive and get this disease just because they made a mistake or they did not know. Now it is different for someone that goes out every night and sleeps with as many people as they can. They are asking for a death sentence. But they obviously have problems that need to be worked on and they don't deserve to suffer with this disease. I am not sure they will ever find a cure, but they have drugs that can make a person live a somewhat normal life after contracting the disease. AIDS is a terrible disease that nobody wants, but people keep getting it.

Well it depends is the cure a drug or a natural product...if the drug companies can get a patent on it then I'm sure they are interested. If not then just forget it..you'll never make any money. Just like cancer I believe there are natural cures...my girlfriends cat had lymphoma and the vet wanted to give her chemo treatments last year. We started giving her Zeolite, it's a natural product and she's doing ok now. I was told the guy selling doesn't claim it can cure cancer anymore cause he got in trouble. I just get so mad when I see those people out collecting money for cancer research. Yes lets spend millions of dollars trying to find some wonder drug !!! Meanwhile I can buy a bottle of zeolite for only $40.

So, you recognize the people who suffer from AIDS because it isn't their fault, and you condemn those who get AIDS because of promiscuous sex. It makes sense in general.

BUT...there are 3 points at which your logic fails.

1) You are saying that you are okay with babies dying in order to punish those who have (in your opinion) had inappropriate sex. You are approving the dying of everyone with AIDS in order to punish a certain sect of them. If there is not a cure for the people you condemn there is also not a cure for the people who are merely victims.

2) What if a person is lied to by a new boyfriend or girlfriend about being tested? Are they a part of the "inappropriate sex" group?

3) People make mistakes and there are consequences. There is no doubt about this. But, are we willing to let millions die because they made a mistake in their life? Why not offer them a second chance.

The problem with all of this is the fact that you are not valuing human life. A life is a life and we must do whatever we can to save it.

P.S. Happy Birthday to Serena! :-P

i can see your point of veiw thou wonder how you can justify veiwing getting pregnant & dealing with your actions to dying because of youre actions? your talking two totally different extremes here even thou your relating it to sex! i really dont believe that if you had been out having fun & just had spontanious sex with someone without thinking about pretection(due to a passionate situation) & later on you found out you were dying would you deal with it! i work with youth every day & have met quite a few people with aids! all they did was not think for two seconds have you ever done that before? not thought whilst driving your car or cooking dinner? seeing as you have a child thats a serious mistake due to what may have aventuated due to your tiny miss judgement for 2 seconds? so why should people with aids be the only ones who dont deserve a second chance? isnt catching the disease punnishment enough? introvienice drug users who contract the disease also deserve a cure as you must have problems in your life to go using drugs let alone share a needle & the same goes for people who are willing to have unpretected sex! soo really everyone deserves life & a second chance! isnt that what gods real plan is? i hope i have shown you the other side to your arguement as i probably would have shared your veiw if i hadnt become a youth worker & seen what its like on the inside!

Have you ever met anyone with AIDS? I have and I can tell you that they are as good of people as you or I. Yes, people do make mistakes but should they be condemned to death for one mistake? All it takes is having sex one time with an infected partner or a poke with an infected needle and you are condemned to death and social quarantine. I don't believe God is that harsh. The God I know is a loving God. He would not condemn a person to hell for one sin anymore than he would condemn someone to death for one bad decision. A cure for AIDS would be wonderful, no one deserves to suffer the consequences of such a disease. The vast majority of people with this disease are the poor and uneducated (mostly in Africa and India). It is not their fault that they were born into a society that turns a blind eye to their plight. We are all in this together. If you were unlucky enough to be born in Africa today, you might have a different perspective as you would have about a 30% (conservatively) chance of being one of those "sheep". I hope this may change your perspective of this situation.

Viruses and bacteria evolve at a much quicker pace than other organisms. Take the flu virus for example. Every year there are new strains out there. When you get a flu shot, it is to help prevent just one single strain. You can still get a different type of flu. Because these things are so easily adaptable, they will always stay a step ahead of the drugs that we come up with. Penecillin is rarely prescribed anymore because most bacteria has built an immunity to it. When AIDS is cured, something will take its place. Overpopulation is going to be a huge problem regardless. When so many people are in close contact, a disease can be spread much more easily. Still, God has nothing to do with this.

You are a moron. AIDS is not like other diseases that "kill off the weak" and "control population overcrowding." The HIV virus is one with NO CURE, and moreover, one that ANYBODY can contract. If somebody close to you had gotten AIDS, you would not be saying something so ridiculously asinine. If a person contracts HIV and gets AIDS, they will die. That is a fact. So are you saying that if somebody unknowingly contracts AIDS they deserve it? If you don't have to compassion to feel sorry for fellow human beings in a bad situation, then you're one ****** up bastard. I hope you get cancer.

What about people who have gotten it through blood transfusions...those are the people who you should care about. You better pray....god forbid you don't get it that way. It is not only through sex...people involved in a crash found out they got it. These are all documente cases.

There are also cases where one woman was trying to get pregnant finally got pregnant then her husband tells her he has AIDS. The problem is the INNOCENT victims...children, people who are faithful and their spouses are sleeping around, people who contract it from contaminated blood etc.

Im sure you wouldn't be saying that if you got aids when you were a teen having unprotected sex like you said. STOP sounding so self righteous. You are just lucky that you missed it!!!

Ok.....You need to check yourself! If you have sex, yes there is a risk. Yes, people need to deal with their consequences, but think about all the people that didn't have a choice in contracting HIV/AIDS. Children, blood transfusions, and people that were raped. YES there needs to be a cure for aids!!!

So when there is a cure, we would only give it to the people who got the disease from birth/rape/infidelity? How would we distingush them from other cases? People would of-course lie and say they were raped? Or are you saying no cure what-so ever for anyone? Bad Idea, Bad question.

I know that you think that this is a harmless question...but it is.
