There no herbal alternatives to diabetes and there are no cures for diabetes type 1. If someone tells you that you don't need to take your meds and you don't, you'll end up in the hospital. If you have type 2 diabetes, chances are, it stems from your weight and eating habits. Attain your height and weight portion and there is a good chance your diabetes will go away just as gestational diabetes goes away after a woman has a baby. But, the longer you don't do anything about it, the greater the chance of it become permanent.

I don't think most diabetics know about this next statement.
If you have type 1 diabetes, a pancreas transplant will eliminate diabetes. 6 years ago, you had to be in renal failure in order to get a transplant for the pancreas. The only way you would get that is by being on a list to get a kidney with the end result being a kidney/pancreas transplant. I think now though, you can get on a list just for a pancreas, before you go into renal failure. The best effort for preventing renal failure in the first place. Search the net for hospitals in your STATE that do this proceedure. Not all hospitals do it, a few in each state. It's usually the teaching hospitals that have the capabilities to do it. You're in the hospital for a week and back to a normal and easier life in a month without watching your food intake, with in reason, and not having to take insulin or wonder what your blood glucose levels are.

EVERYBODY, LOOK INTO IT!

No there are meds and herbs out there that make living with diabetes a little easier but not a cure yet and I've tried EVERYTHING ever the pancreas transplant to get rid of it and when I finally rejected the organ went back to being a diabetic. My oldest daughter is also a Type 1 with a newborn baby of her own all we can do is hope and pray for her Diabetes is not a death sentence it just means you have to make a lot of lifestyle changes I've had it for 33 years and my daughter has had it for 7yes people had to change a lot around here they all love fast food and we know that don't work for a diabetic.

I work in the pharmaceutical field. I personally think not taking anything is sometimes better. It gives your body a chance to use it's immune system. I would take something to treat the symptoms like a sore throat, congestion, etc. I would only take antibiotics or antivirals if you've been sick for a few days or symptoms dramatically increase. As far as herbal, there is a great product out called Cold-fx and it does have great clinical data and natural stuff is always easier on your body. Also remember a lot of it is mental especially stuff related to colds. Alternative medicine is being more popular since it's less invasive and doesn't always require a prescription from a doctor.

There is no cure for diabetes. Neither type 1 (juvenile onset or insulin-requiring) diabetes or type 2 (adult-onset) diabetes ever goes away.

In type 1 diabetes, patients sometimes experience what physicians have come to call a "honeymoon period" shortly after the disease is diagnosed. During the "honeymoon period" diabetes may appear to go away for a period of a few months to a year. The patient's insulin needs are minimal and some patients may actually find they can maintain normal or near normal blood glucose taking little or no insulin.

It would be a mistake to assume that the diabetes has gone away, however.

What is Charantea?
Charantea is a dietary supplement made from 100% dried, unripe fruits of the Ampalaya (Bitter Melon), a herbal remedy long used by Asian diabetics. A special dehydration process 'locks in' the Ampalaya's vital elements in every pack of Charantea, whether in tea or 500mg capsule form. Charantea is best taken to fortify a low-fat, high-fiber diet to maintain a normal blood sugar level.

Key compounds in the Bitter Melon
Having preserved the Ampalaya's natural potency, Charantea contains the herb's key compounds that help maintain normal blood sugar levels. These include a polypeptide-p (a plant insulin similar to animal insulin), charantin (a steroid mixture) and vicine (a pyrimidine nucleoside). Researchers are looking into possible modes of action caused by the interplay of these compounds, including the following:

Quality is our assurance
Ever mindful that much of an herb's natural properties can be lost in the manufacturing process, we strive to keep as much of the Bitter Melon's natural form intact. Carefully select Bitter Melon fruits are put through a special dehydration process that locks in the Bitter Melon's vital elements. These are then cut and ground to fill our tea bags and capsules, ensuring that the same Bitter Melon goodness is present in both products. From growing and harvesting of the fruits, to the drying process and packaging, every stage in the production of Charantea Ampalaya Dietary Supplements follows current Good Manufacturing Practices and the strictest quality control. The result is a modern-day dietary supplement to help maintain normal blood sugar levels.

The diabetes sickness should be improved simply by taking on healthful lifestyle changes. The diet plan really should be comprised of high fiber and also wholesome foods. Have four to six meals spread out evenly through your day. Begin working out regularly. Dietary supplements will be helpful. Flax oil, a daily multivitamin with minerals, gymnema sylvestre, cinnamon, billberry, and barberry can help.
