Insulin comes from islet cells of the pancreas and is not under pituitary control. In the absence of insulin, blood sugar will greatly elevate, and death will ensue.

Not from the pituitary gland, pancreas i believe. We will die with out it. We will die with too much. Our brain is what requires the glucose. Too much or too little will destroy brain tissue and result in coma and/or death.
