I've have only one good veggie dog in my life and dozens of bad ones and dozens of vile veggie burgers. Are there any brands that people could recommend, preferably ones that are easier to find and are available in Canada?

I don't know about hot dogs, and I can't speak for what's available in Canada, but Boca Burgers are, to me, just as tasty as a regular hamburger. I usually buy the original (they also make a vegan).

Yves veggie dogs are not too bad. It is the only one I know of. When it comes to veggie burgers, the one that is quite good is the president's choice that you can usually find at Loblaws or no frills. If you pass by Toronto or live there, I suggest you go to the vegetarian restaurant Juice for Life. They have amazing veggie burgers.

I'm not sure about availibility in Canada, but for veggie dogs and (sandwich meats) Tofurky tends to have meat substitute products that taste much, much better than most other brands. Not a fan of veggie dogs, but Tofurky Beer Brats is something I did like quite a lot.

Here is their website: http://www.tofurky.com/products.htm

As for burgers, my favorite is Garden Burger. (Boca tends to be popular but I've never liked the taste of their products). Gardenburger has a wide range of burger types as well as faux chicken burgers (including cutlets).

Here is a link to their website featuring their burgers:

If anyone has a good answer to this I'd like to know as well, but for Silicon Valley USA.

Outside of restaurants, all the veggie 'meat substitutes' I've had have either been horribly difficult to prepare (but tasted great) or were simply disgusting in flavor - no matter how much stuff/condiments were added.

I love veggie burgers, but the only meatless hotdog ive ever liked are the Schneiders brand ones at my local grocery store. They don't always have them, but when they do i buy a pack and they're awesome.

It's good there are many choices but it is difficult to find what agrees with one's taste bud's.
Hope these help, good luck!

I think Boca Burgers are the best, they have the best taste and texture. I am not crazy about Morningstar Farms thier burgers are a little wet and a gross texture.

I don't know if you can get them there because they're made in South Africa and I live in England, we get them here.

These are the best vege dogs and burgers I've ever tasted.

I'm putting the web details below, contact them and get them to sell there.
