for a 4 month old it is actually called bronculitis..because the boculotubes are smaller up until age two so they call it bronculitis instead of bronchitis...but anyway when my son was diagnosed with bronculitis i read somewhere that it is a form of RSV..so it is better get it under control when it is mild..if you dont then your baby will might have to go to the hospital...but my son was diagnosed with bronculitis when he was about 2 months old and still suffers from it...good luck

In bronchitis there is excessive production of mucus on the bronchi coupled with persistent cough. Now, how bad it will be for a 4 month old....check...how was the infants breathing? Is he cyanotic? Is it affecting the childs feeding pattern?
You could consider bronchitis dangerous if all of the answer to my querry above is yes. Remember, this is a four month old, and his breathing is affected. I suggest you bring the child right away to be assessed by a medical practitione. Antibiotic might be needed and bronchodilator and cough expectorant or suppressant is ordered........Be healthy....Mabuhay!
