If you are a virgin, get you get an STD like, genetically, or non sexually?

I'm not talking about having sex for the first time either, cause I know that's possible.

I'm asking if like a virgin went to the dector for an STD test, is it possible to be positive for something? even though you've never done it!!?

Yes. You can have an STD from birth. You can get some that are spread by contact, like warts. Hep C, which is not so much an STD but is spread VERY easily that way.

Just because you've never "Done It", doesn't protect you from getting any STD through other, common types of stimulation.

You can't catch them by yourself.

I'm not asking, but I wonder what would prompt a virgin to go in to be tested for STDs. If you've got one, it's your at risk behavior that got you there.

Wrap it up, no matter what, unless you're using it by yourself, even then, wash your hands first! ... And after too!

If you engage in unprotected mutual masturbation, you can get STD's.

If you engage in unprotected oral sex, again....STD's could be spread.

If you happen to kiss someone with a cold sore, technically you could be exposed to a form of Herpes.

STD's can be passed on from mother to child via the birth canal, if she was not treated with appropriate medication. I don't think a predisposition could be passed on genetically.

The only exception to that that I am aware of is Hepatitis, and in this case, it is NOT necessarily a predisposition. If a mother has hepatitis, she could pass on antibodies that protect her children from catching the form of Hepatitis she was infected with (this happened to a relative).

Just because one doesn't engage in intercourse does not make one totally safe from STD's. Using protection is not 100% foolproof... but in this day and age, it is WAY better to be safe than sorry.

Yes it is possible!!! Mutual masturbation (which doesn't include complete coitus) can indeed transmit STDs, including HIV, Herpes, etc. One of the common ones among female swimmers is Trichonomiasis (otherwise known as Trich). It has been documented to be spready by using another's towel. Although such things are rare, it is a possibility. Syphillis can be spread without sexual contact.

yes, the best example i know is sharing needles
(for the people who inject heroin)
really stds can come from any transmission in which bodily fluids are exchanged
so you can see how the "s" in std is somewhat of a contradiction
but i the truth is that almost all std come from sex- which is why it is called an S.exually T.ransmitted D.isease

stay safe

If u have ever had oral sex... u r sexually active, and you could "catch" something if u have ever had oral sex of any kind. And of course when ever u have sex u are at rick of getting anything. Always use protection, especially if u are unsure... and we never r these days!

You touch his urethral meatus and transfer gonorrhea when you rub your eye.
He has a syphilitic canker in his mouth and you kiss him.
You play tonsil hockey and you meet his Herpes Simplex Type 2 virus(HSV2).
Google for extra scenarios.

If your Mom had herpes or AIDS or some other diseased you could have them too, although you have not had sex.
