I'm very sorry to hear about your mother; I know it must be difficult for you. The general wisdom about food and water part of the rule of threes - sort of an old saying: "Three minutes without air, three days without water, three weeks without food." Exceed any of these, and chances are the person will die.

People can live without water for a couple of days at the most. I'm sorry to hear that.

more then 7 hour is abnormal
if she keep refusing food and water call 911 for medical attention
