They don't normally issue non-prescription drugs for asthma. The thing is, some people may be allergic to a certain type of medication or it may lead to other complications. Remember that the breathing problem is just a symptom of your bronchi tubes contracting in response to dust, pleghm and other stuff and may also be triggered by stress. The bottomline is that there are numerous reasons and it's best to have it checked by a pyshician so as to ascertain the cause of your asthma. Sometimes, there are also allergies involved. In many cases, a good bout of exercise and activities will gradually lessen the frequency of asthma attacks. In my case, I've only had an attack just recently because of extreme stress but otherwise, I had been asthma free for about 8 years now, and that was just a mild one. :)
