i don't know if you can get them where you are, but some stores sell ornaments that are square or triangular, then gently using a glitter glue pen or metallic permanent marker, write the guests name on it,let dry and tie a pretty ribbon through the hole for a hanger.
you can even take and blow up several small balloons(one per name plate) take either metallic thread, embroidery floss or even a pretty yarn and put in glue, wrap around balloon, sprinkle with glitter
let dry. (leave the tied end exposed alittle)
while drying, cut out ovals sized to fit the plate and write name on them with metallic marker.
when strings are dried, carefully and gently pop balloon while holding on to the tied end.remove balloon, glue on name plate.
either suggestion will give your guest something beautiful at your house, plus a new tree ornament for their tree for next year.

Make a sugar cookie and you can use icing to put the guest name on the cookie - You can place the cookie in a muffin paper cup (the cookie will lay it flat and it will look frilly)

You can buy pre-filled tubes of icing at the grocery and this may be something you an Mom can do together

Tiny frames you can buy in the craft store, whit or clear christmas balls. Place a 2-3 sprigs of rosemary and tie with rafia (sp?) and attach a pretty piece of paper maybe with a stencil of holly and their name.

I make christmas baubles. they seem to be somewhat time eating yet consumer-friendly and so helpful and considerate. purchase foam bauble shapes, beads, pins, sequins and ribbon. You thread the beads and sequins onto the pins and push them into the bauble til they are completely coated. Pin some ribbon down onto the best for the hanger. seems great and you additionally could make any development or shade. stable success and merry christmas.
