when I was younger we celebrated it but we were not Asian and someone always bought this huge thing of rice and it was pink and it was stick and taste like coconut it was really good and everybody ate some for good luck what is it called and how do you make it

Hmmmmm, sound familiar. All I know that I have help my mom long time ago to make goodies like that during festivals like the CHINESE New Year in Singapore.

By the way, you have Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia (pretty much like Singapore) and they all have their own munchies to celebrate with.

My Filipina wife says it's called Biringhe. It's sticky rice with pork and chicken meat and coconut + margarine in it and with food color. :-)

Oh man! That rice isn;t usually pink unless the cook threw up from drinking.
