It is a sexualy transmitted disease, very important that you get tested regularly because most of the time it has absolutely no symptoms. It can stay inside you for ages and cause scarring to your fallopian tubes which could make you infertile. You can even catch it from having sex only once. If you use a condom however, there is no risk.

it is a std. I know three people that have had it and i was very confused. I cleaned my toilet seats with bleach every time my friend left even though she had been treated. But then i did some research on it and although you never want to have a std this one really is not that big of a deal and can be completely cured in a very short time im thinking like twenty four hours or two or three days. And it is very common one in every four people become infected with it according to what i read. more common in girls than boys. I read there usually are no symptoms but two of my friends that had it complained of a dish charge and smell. So if you do have this or think you might go to the clinic where nobody knows you and get tested and treated. Good Luck!!!!!

Sexual Health:
Chlamydia
Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in the U.S. This infection is easily spread because it often causes no symptoms and may be unknowingly passed to sexual partners. In fact, about 75% of infections in women and 50% in men are without symptoms.
How Do I Know if I Have Chlamydia?
It is not easy to tell if you are infected with chlamydia since symptoms are not always apparent. But when they do occur, they are usually noticeable within 1-3 weeks of contact and can include the following:
Symptoms in Women
Abnormal vaginal discharge that may have an odor
Bleeding between periods
Painful periods
Abdominal pain with fever
Pain when having sex
Itching or burning in or around the vagina
Pain when urinating
Symptoms in Men
Small amounts of clear or cloudy discharge from the tip of the penis
Painful urination
Burning and itching around the opening of the penis
Pain and swelling around the testicles

Chlamydia is caused by a bacterium called Chlamydia trachomatis. Chlamydia infects the neck of the womb (cervix) in women and the tube inside the penis (urethra) in men. Sometimes it can infect the throat and anus of either sex.
You should get advice, reassurance or treatment as early as possible. If left untreated, chlamydia can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women, which can lead to chronic pain and infertility (the inability to get pregnant).
Women may have no signs or symptoms with chlamydia. If symptoms are present, they may include:
An unusual vaginal fluid (discharge)
A burning sensation when urinating
Deep pain during vaginal sex
Vaginal bleeding after sex.
Men may have no signs or symptoms either. If symptoms are present, they may include:
White or clear fluid (discharge) from the penis
Discomfort during urination.
Chlamydia is spread when a person has vaginal or anal sex without a condom with someone who has chlamydia. It can also be spread by oral sex. You can’t tell by looking at someone whether they have an STI or not. So, if you’re having sex without using a condom, you are taking a risk.
If detected early, chlamydia can be treated with a single dose of antibiotic. Complicated chlamydial infections and pelvic inflammatory disease in women may need longer courses of antibiotics. Partners of people with chlamydia also need to be treated as they may be infected. If your partner is not treated, you can get re-infected.

I think you mean chlamydia. It is a sexually transmitted disease. It DOESN'T HAVE SYMPTOMS! That is why it is so dangerous. It can cause blockage of the fallopian tubes and render a female sterile (unable to conceive children.) It can also lead to pelvic imflammatory disease, which is painful.
You need to have a pelvic examination annually, including a pap smear. It is used to determine whether or not you have sexually transmitted diseases and the overall health of your reproductive organs.
It goes without saying you need to practice abstinence or safer sex (use of condoms) to protect yourself.
