traditionally, gyros' (pronounced YEE ros) are made of lamb, but here in the states they mix it with beef to keep it a little less expensive. The meats are chopped, mixed and formed into a cone shape. Then they are roasted on a vertical spit. When done, thin slices are carved off the cone and put on a pita, topped with a yogurt sauce called 'tzatziki' and tomato and onion slices.
Now I am very hungry.
