Alot of hospitals will write off the bill . Call them and check on it or if they do not then just pay them five bucks a week at least your paying something on it. Also the nice thing is they can not refuse to treat you based on the fact that you owe a bill.

Hospitals have to treat you to keep you alive, then they haunt you to death to pay them. It is hard not having insurance, especially when you have a chronic condition. Just pay them what you can. Research your area and maybe you can find a clinic that will treat you on an ongoing basis according to income, so you can get a handle on what the problem is, and stay out of hospitals. Good luck.

Frequently you can negotiate with the hospital to pay a fraction, like the insurance companies do. They typically pay less than half what paying patients are billed for.

Negotiate.

Hospital bills are not carved in stone.
