it means you are invisible and other people on your messenger can't see you online.Make yourself available on your mesenger list if you want people to see you online.

If you're talking about Yahoo! Answers again, your 'My Yahoo! Answers' page, then it just means that you've selected NOT to let anyone see your e-mail address, and NOT to let people mail you by clicking the link.
You can change this if you want by clicking 'Edit My Info'! (I recommend keeping your e-mail address secret though, it should keep away the nut-jobs you get on here sometimes..!)

It means you don't have a bunch of non-sense flooding your email box. It means that the snoops, idiots, and some crooked and conniving people won't be looking you up to do dirty things to you. It means that was about the smartest thing you are likely to do here. Congrats.
