Since birth - as a custom and a choice. Had many occasions to eat meat but chose to remain vegetarian. It is lighter on the system and good for health. Contrary to common belief that meat is essential as a source of proteins, vegetarian diet DOES have rich protein sources like Lentils etc. A well balanced veggie diet can have all the nutrients if done properly.

I´ve been a vegetarian since 1998. Unforntunately I haven´t been a vegan yet, I couldn´t stop to use eggs and milk in my diet. But I am going to be soon or later...

Only a year, but it was a slow transition. I started out not eating seafood, then not eating red meats, then not eating veal, then beef, then turkey and chicken, then lard... Then a year ago I went completely vegetarian.
