If you have an active flare up, then no - you are advised not to give blood with ANY active infection.

Herpes can lay dormant in the body, but during a dormant phase it will be fine to be a donor.

However...if you have caught herpes from unprotected sexual intercourse, you should be sure that you haven't also got a blood borne infection such as Syphilis or HIV, before donating.

Yes you can. They are not passed through the blood. The only things that you can't donate with are syphillis and HIV.
