Anyone else on a insulin pump?

i have been on a insulin pump since april 2005 i was 7 months pregnant when put on it. im still currently on it. Just wondering if anyone else on here is on it and how do they like it vs. taking shots everyday?

2 of my cildren who are grown adults now have had the pump since it became public. You are able to obtain complete control of you blood sugars. There are 2 rates that are set. they are called a basil rate and a bolis rate. The basil rate gives you insulin every 10 minutes over a period of 24 hours. The bolis rate givs you insulin when you are peaking. You are aable to give yourself insulin anytime you want. The pump looks like a pager and can be worn anywhere on your body. Depending on the amount of insulin you use, the pump is changed every 2 to 5 days. As far as showing, you just unplug it. If you would like more information, please email me and we can discuss. I'm on it and LOVE it. Been pumping for over 4 years now. I'd like to get one of the newer smart pumps but my insurance sucks so I'll wait until I really need one. I get much better control on a pump, not to mention all the other conveniences, like not having to give myself 5 or so injections a day.

Medtronic has a new great, it has a sensor- of course you'll need Self Management Training for it. But I hear it works wonders. But consult your Endocrinologist before going on the Pump.

i am and it is sweet and it is so cool you can e mail me if you like.I am a new person to it but my aunt taught me alot so good luck. also the shot takeing is to me pianful its 120 shots vs 12 site changes

my aunt is...this is her second child and she had to do the same with her first child...she thinks it annoying to having to record everything she eats for her doctor...and her mom is a nurse so she puts the insulin in for her...lol...
