You just advertised it.

Tell your publisher to get in touch with Barnes and Noble and tell them you are willing to do signings.

Ask your publisher to call local news stations. Offer to come down and do a cooking segment for them.

Do not forget word of mouth. Buy some copies of your book and drop them off for free at a doctor's office. People will flip through it. You can attach a small card to the inside cover about where your book is sold.

Talk to local bookstores ask if they will order copies of your books and place them for sale if you come do signings. Local bookstores are normally more than happy to support local authors.

Contact your local radio stations. Look and see if there are internet radio stations around too. Ask if you can "sponser" a segment in return for them running an ad about your book.

I hope this helps.

Contact singles groups and let them know what your book is about. Sounds like something that a single person might give another single person for Christmas. They're always buying the pop psychology stuff on sex and relationships. Maybe you could get some big Internet site like eHarmony to give you a free plug if you give their members a 5% discount?

Tough question. I can't think of anyone that I would give this book to nor does sound the least bit interesting to me but, hey, I'm in a satisfying relationship. Target the loney folks out there that are desparate for new ideas on starting a relationship or who want to spice up their faltering romances.

It sounds like a good book. Perhaps you should practice on your grammar just a little bit before you go and advertise. You want to make sure you get a great advertisement out about it.
Just for the record also...You just advertised here. Good job!!!

Hope this helps

Advertising is a bad investment for book publishers and for authors. It very, very, very rarely pays for itself.

Instead, you should work on publicity. I suggest that you get any of a dozen books on doing publicity for books. (I review some on my site, www.GropenAssoc.com, in the Reference Desk.)

Then, before you try anything further, I suggest you:
--Look carefully at your book and its competition. What are the differences?
--What is your ideal reader like?
--Why does that reader want a book? What need is he/she looking to fill?
--What does your book do to fill that need? What does it do better than the competition?
--What else do your ideal readers do or like?
--Where can you find large groups of them? (magazines, associations, newsletters, websites, blogs, . . .) Look first for places that are almost exclusively populated by your target readers.
--Who is influential in those groups?
--How can you get those influential people to read and comment upon your book?
--Will your book be on the shelves in bookstores when you move people to look for it? If not, skip all the rest, 'cause it's rare indeed that your customer will special order (and even if they try, bookstore clerks tend to deny that the book can be ordered).

The list goes on, but that'll get you started.

You should have a book signing at the popular bookstores in your area. Another good idea is to post flyers about the book at grocery stores, libraries etc. Any place that has those free advertising bulletin boards. The book sounds great though. Im gonna check it out.

Well, you just advertised, and the Internet is a powerful advertising tool. Send emails to all your friends telling them your book is out. Also, ask them to forward the emails to their friends and family. Once a few people check it out and like it, they'll tell more people. Maybe you could even give a free copy to a local female radio DJ. If she likes it, she may mention it on air. Good Luck!

Send it to every talk show host in the phone book. From Ellen to Oprah to The Megan Mullally Show to Leno ( He's the best). Tonight Show has always been the crown jewel of Late Night.

Well if you go door to door all across America telling people of your new book, I'm sure someone will see the blisters on your toes and feel sorry for you and purchase your book. Which by the way I'm sure will sell great between the months of Oct. and December (I'm also a fortune teller by trade).

Sounds like my kind of book! I'll have to check it out on Amazon. What you should do is spam it on cooking forums!
