You are safe. But be happy and safe. Best to be safe than sorry protect yourself. You do not know what the other one is thinking. At the moment you are both okay. But what about later on down the line best to start now in using protection but remember latex condoms are the best effective method if you are active. Not 100%! BUT something is better than nothing tho. Don't you agree.

Chances are really good that neither of you have STDs. And, if neither of you do, then no you can not get an STD.

Some STDs though are contracted other ways then sex. A person can actually be born with herpes, which there is NO cure for. Chances of being born with herpes are really rare though. I've read it's less than a 1% chance. Cold sores (a form of herpes) can be transmitted by just kissing someone who has them. And, if someone has cold sores and gives a person oral sex, that person can actually develop genital herpes.

HIV can also be contracted through birth and a few other ways like using dirty needles and syringes.

So, technically, if neither of you have had any previous partners, you aren't a drug users or were born with a STD, chances are really low, if at all, that you will get an STD.

Contrary to popular belief, oral sex is not a completely safe alternative to vaginal or anal sex. Chlamydia, human papillomavirus (HPV), gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis (multiple strains), and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) — including HIV — can be transmitted through oral sex.[14]. However transmission of HIV through fellatio or cunnilingus is relatively rare. Any kind of direct contact with body fluids of a person infected with HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) should be avoided. In 2005, a research study at the College of Malmö in Sweden suggested that performing unprotected oral sex on a person infected with HPV might increase the risk of oral cancer .[15] The risk from most of these types of infection, however, is generally considered far lower than that associated with vaginal or anal sex.

Furthermore, oral sex should be avoided when either partner has wounds or open sores on the genitals or mouth, or bleeding gums in the mouth, or has recently brushed, flossed, undergone dental work, or eaten crunchy foods such as potato chips, all of which can cause small scratches in the lining of the mouth. These wounds, even when they are microscopic, increase the chances of contracting STDs that can be transmitted orally under these conditions. Such contact can also lead to more mundane infections from common bacteria and viruses found in, around and secreted from the genital regions. Because of this, many medical professionals advise the use of condoms in the performance of fellatio (flavoured condoms are available for this purpose) and the use of plastic or latex sheets (dental dams or ordinary plastic wrap) for cunnilingus, although the latter has failed to achieve the same level of widespread use as condoms.

technically, you can. since neither of you have ever had another partner, you are safe from diseases that can only be passed through intercourse. however, diseases like herpes (the sort that causes cold sores and the like) can be contracted throughout your life, from kissing or drinking after an infected person... this sort of herpes CAN show up on your genitals. in addition, diseases like AIDS and hepatitis can be passed to people via blood transfusions and such, although i believe that doesn't happen anymore... used to before they knew to test for those things. in general, though, you are playing it safe if you two are each other's first. And if you are uncomfortable, use a condom or a dental dam.

ok...let me reanswer my question because i didnt know that you were eachothers firsts. As long as he nor you cheats, then you cant catch anything from having oral. It is important to know sexual history with your partner before you engage in sexual activity.
Now if he were to catch something and you gave him oral...you can catch the disease that way. Hope this helps!
