GET NATURAL STUFF THAT IS ALL PLANT BASED... I really DO not like saying "mock meat" because anyone who really thinks about it long enough may come to consider the INVERSE ~ that actually man got "confused" and ate flesh or was "tricked" into eating flesh when in the beginning it was all that SEITEN type stuff...

alot of the prepackaged stuff has terms like "natural flavor" or "smoke" or other jargon on the label that any "experienced vegan" would stay away from unless he knew what was in such....

there are YEAST and BACTERIA concerns

I personally do eat salt occasionally today because I do taste some of the more suitable seitens and such that are on the market... every now and then I'll come by something... there is a guy in VERMONT who makes stuff I think it's called "sheffield's seiten" but don't quote me on this.... he will ship large orders I think.....

Even Wal-mart has the stuff now...but you can also make your own "seitan".

Go to a health food store and buy wheat gluten.

Add enough water to have it hold together and knead ot until it feels very rubbery.

Break it off into meatball size balls.

Simmer it in a broth with giner, garlic (seaweed if you like it) and tamari (soysauce) for about 20-30 minutes until it is a nice deep brown color.
Then you can keep it frozen refirgerated or use it right then and there.
I used to make spaghetti and wheatballs for my kids. Or I would slice it and saute it so it was like pork in a stir-fry.
It is DELICIOUS!

Morning Star Farms, Boca, Quorn... All very good, and available in the freezer section of most grocery stores. Additionally, there are some non-frozen varieties in the vegtable isle of some supermarkets.

At literally every health food store you find, tofu, tempeh, seitan just to name a few, Don't forget Garden Burgers, Boca Burgers, all the Quorn products. Just look at your local grocery store in the freezer section, virtually all of them now sell Boca and Garden Burgers.
