Avocados are wonderful, and while they are high in fat, it is the monounsaturated kind. It is easier to digest and better for heart and blood health. Still, calories are calories. Even salad will cause weight gain if you eat too much of it. Maybe just aim for a half of one, or only eat it every other day. Another idea would be to mash them and make a good guacamole to dip your other veggies in throughout the week. If you reserve the pits and store them in the guac when you put it away, it will slow the browning process. But good choice on the veggies and fruits for a week. You should see some great detox benefits by the time the week is over!!! ♥ ♥

if you are eating whole, raw, fresh fruits and veggies, you could probably get away with a few avocados...
Most veggies, some fruits have "negative" calories, so you burn more calories digesting them than you get out of them.
This means instead of getting food for your brain, your brain will be starving, and it(your brain alone) requires 200 calories a day for survival.
I've lost weight eating 1-2 avocadoes in a raw diet.
You can make an avocado dip and dip celery or other fresh veggies in it, and dilute the dip with some water, or make a celery and avocado cold soup (this is really good!), which dilutes the calories of the avocado, and gets you the calorie burning properties of celery.
The spicier things are, the better the boost in metabolism.
If you can handle it, making it hot and spicy will boost your calorie burning abilities about 50-150% for up to an hour.
:)
Don't be anorexic though. I've lost weight eating tons of (all natural) peanut butter with fresh fruits and veggies.
The best bet would be to make sure you exercise...and as boorish as it might sound, jogging/running is very helpful to weightloss!!! and after a couple weeks, once you get past that first mile or two, the rest is cakework, and you get a "runner's high" (the endorphins leave you feeling like you just had ***, but it's much safer, and you won't get pregnant from it ;-)
good luck!

What is the point in an all fruit and veggie diet? You realize this isn't at all healthy, right? As for avocados. They are very high in fat but in the good fat. I feel that if you aren't eating them all the time then you might as well enjoy. I wouldn't eat more than one a day. I'm not sure I, personally, could eat a whole one. A half of one is more than enough for a sandwich or whatever.
If you are trying to lose weight then just eat in moderation. I eat three meals and two snacks a day. I don't deny myself foods. Although I do avoid prepackaged snacks. It is really easy to lose weight if you eat on a schedule and you avoid prepackaged junk. I even enjoy my homemade desserts and lose weight. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and have barely gained a pound.
Get off the diet roller coaster. I work as a consultant to help people make healthy choices when eating. If you want to ask questions then feel free to email me. There is no fee for those I counsel online. :)

I guess 1/4 of avocado is ok if you are on diet. Perhaps you shoudn't mix it with carbs... Salad & avocado is a healthy choice. I eat 1 avocado per day.. 'cause I really really like them!! (and I am not fat)

5. Protein.
6. will increase your HDL,
7. good form of cholesterol included. but BUT
8. But heavy calories AND so you must have a very limited moderate quantity. but as a rule of thumb 2 avocados a week will not hurt.

You can but keep it to 1/4 to 1/2 per day instead of a whole one. As far as the diet of veggies and fruits only for a week, it won't harm you but, you need protein to keep/build muscle and lose fat. Add some tofu, nuts, and beans for good protein sources.

While I wouldn't try this diet, I agree that avocados have the good fat, but 7 grams of fat per half! So watch how that adds up!

Avacados do have good fat-- but they are high in calories. If you are trying to lose weight and therefore cutting calories an avacado a day probably is not a good idea.
