Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but carrots won't improve your vision. It might help if you have night blindness due to a vitamin A deficiency, and the beta carotene might help prevent macular degeneration and cataracts. It can help with your eye HEALTH, but it will not improve your vision. It's a rumor that was started in World War II, when the British bomber pilots were suddenly more successful with sighting Nazi bombers at night. The rumor was started to hide the new tool they had - Airborne Interception Radar, which helped them spot the planes before they reached the English Channel. Carrots contain a vitamin that is good for your eyes but, in the vast majority of cases, people already get enough of the vitamin anyway. So, stuffing yourself with carrots is extremely unlikely to free you of glasses/contacts. I think this story was started by the carrot farmers to increase sales!

carrots are very good for your eyes but don't ever go on a carrot diet or else after a few weeks you WILL be orange.
