Ask each girl to wear their bathing suit to the party. Every child wants to have a food fight, I asked my 15 yr daughter if she wanted one and she thought I was kidding. I bought the industrial size can of the cheapest food I could buy, rice is great, cook lots of it, spaghetti doesn;t stick well. I bought 2 gallons of cheap ice cream, lined the girls into two teams, they had to pass the ice cream through their legs and over there heads, they we sticky and covered in chocolate Ice cream. then I blindfolded all of them and placed a bowl of food in there hands and asked them to guess what it was, they could touch and taste the food, if they guessed correctly they got to keep that food when everyone was done guessing then we had the food fight in my backyard. 3 years later the kids are still talking about it. Instant mashed potatoes work great too. Now my son wants one. Afterward the fight and lots of pictures use shampoo and conditioner and wash them off with the hose outside. The next day all the food was gone, birds, and bugs had their fill. It was my daughters most memorable party.

If you're talking about girls, take them to the ballet (Romeo and Juliet or Swan Lake is just about perfect for 16), or a Broadway show. Or at 16 I was in love with Shakespeare, especially the tragedies. Let them dress up in their very best clothes and go in style, then take them someplace fancy for birthday cake and hot chocolate afterwards.

It's kind of not so, so good. You can take the 16 year old. But it has to be a place where there is no alcohol! Maybe like Rare Steer!!

Perhaps you can reserve a suite at a nice hotel and maybe you can let her throw a slumber party in the room. Let her and her friends order in room service. Make sure that she packs lots of make up and fun stuff (crowns, boas, etc.) it should make for some really cute pics for her to keep. Hope that helps!

How about dinner at someplace like Johnny Rockets and then midnight bowling under neon lights! They usually turn up the rock music and the kids can dance and bowl!

I would check with her friends and let them help you out. At this age, they know more then we do what they think is special

If you decide, you may be putting yourself up for a fall. Sometimes with teens, we can use a wonderful idea, spend lots of time and money, and still be "LAME". Their word, not mine.

Also at this age, if your friends do not have a good time, neither do you. Ask her friends, you will be glad you did.

Where I'm from we call them fun spots and they have bumper carts, miniature golf, an arcade, go karts and food vendors. You could maybe take them to dinner theater, you can eat while watching a movie.

Rent a place and let them have a party.
They don't want you there by the way, if you stayed home it would be very memorable and fun for them.
