I've been a vegetarian for a couple of years and surprisingly enough, I don't eat that many veggies. If you really think vegetarians live on broccoli and salads, you are mistaken. Because of all the very yummy vegetarian 'meats' and frozen dinners out there, you wouldn't need to change your diet that much, and really, You don't like any veggies? Not one? Even if you are a meat eater, you should still eat veggies at least sometimes. If you really are considering being vegetarian, try to do without meat for several meals a week for a while, to see what kinds of foods you will still be able to eat. Its more than you think. And its okay if you are only vegetarian some of the time. Even that will make you much healthier and save quite a few animals.

LOL I'm the rebel vegetarian in my family. It's a very personal choice and as long as you read everything and come to your OWN conclusion...you're doing fine.
I would suggest checking out a vegetarian cookbook from the library. You don't need to "cold turkey" any diet change. Start simple by having a veggie at each meal...Then, after you get used to that, start having smaller portions of meat and larger portions of veggies/fruits/nuts/etc. Mix and match till you feel comfortable with your food choices. You don't want to feel guilty or deprived.
If you're patient, you'll find out how your body wants to be fed. I personally feel better on a meatless diet...but you may not. Play! Food is fun!
Good luck!

I don't have an issue with eating meat, but just really enjoy vegetables much more.
If I'm not cooking for others, I'll find that I'll make 3 or 4 different steamed veggies and a fruit for my dinner. I don't even consider making a meat, and am relieved that I don't have to cook it.
If I'm cooking for my family, I HAVE to make a meat or they look at me like I'm giving them grass for a meal ;)
I just find them delicious. I ate quite a few veggies as a child, but meat also.. I'm the only one in my family that just enjoys a 'veggie only' meal.
Are there any vegetables you like? Maybe you could try putting a few spices on them?

I Am. YOu know you can get veggie meat like veggie burgers, right? It actually tastes GOOD! Here's the pros on going veggie:
more energy
less vegs are obese
clearer skin
you know, meat has hormones, feces, filth, antibiotics, and natural chemicals released when they are killed. And you are making your heart disease and cancer risk higher! And animals are treated cruelly and fed nutrition less food.
Start by eating less meat and replacing with veggies you like and soy meats. Some taste so good, it tasted better than the real thing. There's soy eggs ,cheese, meat, you just need to get used to buying soy. Eventually, you'll be eating MEAT FREE
You know, soy meats taste quite the same. Boca and So soya are the best bets. Switching isn't so hard after this. For more info:

YOu don't need to live on veggies to go veg
See?

You see, you need to educate yourself hun. Vegetarians don't live on vegetables and fruit. We eat anything and everything as long as it isn't meat. We eat pasta, eggs, pizza, tacos but instead of using flesh we use soy meats....you can do it...it's so easy.

the way the slaughter houses works..its best to go vege...todays world meat is taken as a thing rather then a food which comes frm a live stock who has same kinda of feeling & sence of pain as any of us...& in return of their service to humans, they dont even get a dignified death...is it worth being part of it...well once into non veg its difficult to leave it..the only way to leave it is try go behind the scenes of these torture chambers called slaughter houses...Get to know the species around us..they so human & adorable..all they ask for is lil love & respect..is it too much
Its sad that for the non vegs they aint getting wat is there right..& slaughter houses do as they please

I am a vegetarian. So is my sister, and several friends. I don't only eat vegetables- fruits, grains, nuts and tofu (well, maybe tofu doesn't count as it is disgusting) are all available for vegetarians. I mean, we don't live completely on salads! :-)
