Both will lose. Neighbour should not fight but look to work together to improve both economies and countries. However, if really there was a war, the SAF would whip the MAF for the first 3 days, and if there is no trouble on the Thai border, and MAF moves its northern forces down, then there could be a long drawn out affair which then plays into the hands of the Malaysians.

At the end of the day, both lose.

The chances for a full-blown war are not high. In the event that hostilities are imminent, you can expect international arbitration and intervention of all sorts. A conflict in that part of the world would be so disruptive to shipping that no country with interests in the region would countenance it.

That having been said, Singapore has conscription, first-rate commando forces, an excellent air arm, a well-equipped small maritime force ... and entirely too little real estate to base out of. If the Malaysians wanted Singapore and were willing to expend the lives to take it, they'd take it. There's just no doubt that even a functional blockade that falls short of storming the island would bring Singapore to its knees in fairly short order, with the population density and scarcity of resources.

Besides, Singapore depends on Malaysia for basics like water and electricity. A war under such circumstances is a foregone conclusion.

I'm a Singaporean and a patriotic one also.. LOL

Hmmm.. and Why are we fighting a war? It will do more harm to both countries rather than good. I think leaders of both countries know the consequences of waging a war on each other. And no comments on Singapore military capabilities. Im proud of my country and willing to die protecting it. Even how 'BIG' the enemy is. MAJULAH SINGAPURA!!

And shame on u people here who even think of giving support to ur enemies. Dun u guys think. If ur enemies win, do u think u will be a citizen of ur enemy's country. U will not even be a second class citizen and will not be treated equally. If u can betray the country of ur birth and defect to the enemy side, what makes u think ur 'new' country will trust u? Well u can jolly well run away again if ur 'new' country being attack. There's this thing call LOYALTY, go read it up.

ermm..firstly i want my 2 points. ok if we realy get into a war,it depends how long the war will go on.maybe 1st 10days,Singapore will win it bcos of its armpower and technology but after that, Malaysia will win bcos of the number of soliders outnumbering singapore soldiers.Of cos soldiers will hav fatigue and number of bullets may not be enuff. and if we go into guerilla warfare, Aksar Tentera DiRaja Malaysia will have the edge,of cos. final say: short term:Malaysia long term: Singapore. ever wonder this. what if the whole population of Malaysia attack Singapore with only bare hands? Singapore will be outnumbered. Majulah Singapura!
